| "Every
pilot needs his wing" . This is the philosophy with which
GRIF develops its design.
KPL means King post less, that is, wing without tower,
since 1999, year when the CRS was born, the GRIF

frame and the new system, its have been drawn with programs CAD,
a lot of time has been devoted to the compatibility of the new details with
the old ones, so that to allow possible retrofit. Thanks to this GRIF it
makes the change of the traditional frame possible turning them
into KPL frame.
The frame is made with tubes of AVIONAL 2017, the sail's
battens of ERGAL 7075 , all the plates and the mechanical
parts are made of AVIONAL 2024 , ALLUMINIUM 3571 and STAINLESS STEEL
, according to their use.
All the pieces were designed for mechanical work, but even providing for
aesthetical shape, the pieces of the driving triangle are an example , which
join and have the same tube's wing contour.
They are made by the best workshops with numerical control machine-tools.
We
use POLYANT'S products to make the sail, the leading-edge
is made of TRYLAM or PENTEX , but for the extrados and
double surface we use DACRON, reinforced where there are
the biggest efforts. It means a longest life for our
wings and some comfortable driving characteristics.
This production's organization allows us to obtain high aesthetical and
mechanical quality, maintaining low cost both for wings and spare-parts
.
