"Every
pilot needs his wing" . This is the philosophy with which
GRIF develops its design.
The starting data forecast a wing's development, with a maximum-speed
better than the SPYDER and at the same time maintaining
the pilotage characteristics that belong to GRIF's products.
CORSAIR completes the whole wing's production for trike,
as small as it suffices with its 12,8 square meter sail's surface it warrants
a right high speed.
The use of the winglets and its long development, that interested both
the sail's shape and the frame, gave us very excellent results in the
wing's category which CORSAIR belongs to.
Even in this case we avail ourselves of the experience we have on hang-glider,
where the wings aerodynamic refining produce excellent results.
The balance's fine job obtained from wing's span reduction, added to the
sail's shape and the ratio between the extrados and double surface, make
the CORSAIR a special wing in its category.

We
used the winglets for the first time on a motorized wing, on CORSAIR
two models are available, and they beside rendering more aggressive the
wing contributing to the performances in a particular way; moreover it's
possible to assemble the strobe-lights with them, these are made on purpose
for the GRIF, with them you will have some sure advantages
for the flight's safety.
CORSAIR , joined to a streamlined trike, motorized by Rotax
503 and on a two-seater flight, it allows about maximum-speed of
140 Km/h., but it can fly for a long distance at about 110 Km/h. and it
can fly slowly at about 45 Km/h.
These results repay our work, because on CORSAIR the high
performances that the exacting pilots demand are synthesized, maintaining
the pilotage characteristics that belong to GRIF's production.
Now a new CORSAIR is available with it’s 13.7 square
meters surface, it flies very good by the trikes motorized by Rotax 503.
Its performances are: maximum speed about 125 Km/h, cruise speed
about 95 Km/h and minimum speed is about 42 Km/h .
The
frame is made with tubes of AVIONAL 2017, the sail's battens
of ERGAL 7075 , all the plates and the mechanical parts
are made of AVIONAL 2024 , ALLUMINIUM 3571 and STAINLESS STEEL
, according to their use.
All the pieces were designed for mechanical work, but even providing for
aesthetical shape, the pieces of the driving triangle are an example , which
join and have the same tube's wing contour.
They are made by the best workshops with numerical control machine-tools.

We use POLYANT'S products to make the sail, the leading-edge
is made of TRYLAM or PENTEX , but for the extrados and
double surface we use DACRON, reinforced where there
are the biggest efforts. It means a longest life for
our wings and some comfortable driving characteristics.
This production's organization allows us to obtain high aesthetical and
mechanical quality, maintaining low cost both for wings and spare-parts
.
