The SPYDER was our visiting-card in the trikes wing's category , it was born about two months before the TRAINER and underwent a long period of flight tests.
We made three prototypes and after about twenty months of improving we fixed the final model.
GRIF provided for the wing set-up with most trike skilled pilot’s contribution.
The SPYDER was born to satisfy a certain kind of flight, we think that the trike's main characteristics are its practicality and its whole safety.
This involves that the whole trike-wing's performances have to be well balanced, handling has to be excellent in all situations, even in turbulent air conditions and in case of engine out.
We are persuaded that it is not so important to have high performance for some characteristics, for instance a 150 Km/h. speed, because even the most faired trike doesn't assure the pilot's comfort.

This is our SPYDER design thought.
Such performances rewarded us of the effort we carried out, as many experts in this field say, because they executed the test for several Italian magazines such as Hobby Volo, Sport Flap and Ali e the french magazine named Ailes Magazine.
Our SPYDER allows a perfect balancing with all the available trikes on the market.
It offers such high average-speed that it may fly for a long distance at about 100 Km/h.; moreover it offers a good behaviour in turbulent situations and it doesn't tire the pilot during his steering. These characteristics added to about 43 Km/h. minimum-speed and about 120 Km/h maximum-speed over, make it the ideal wing for the pilot who loves fast tourism , often flies with a passenger and doesn’t despise to fly during the warmest hours in the day.
The frame is made with tubes of AVIONAL 2017, the sail's battens of ERGAL 7075 , all the plates and the mechanical parts are made of AVIONAL 2024 , ALLUMINIUM 3571 and STAINLESS STEEL , according to their use.
All the pieces were designed for mechanical work, but even providing for aesthetical shape, the pieces of the driving triangle are an example , which join and have the same tube's wing contour.

They are made by the best workshops with numerical control machine-tools.

We use POLYANT'S products to make the sail, the leading-edge is made of TRYLAM or PENTEX , but for the extrados and double surface we use DACRON, reinforced where there are the biggest efforts. It means a longest life for our wings and some comfortable driving characteristics.
This production's organization allows us to obtain high aesthetical and mechanical quality, maintaining low cost both for wings and spare-parts .
