"Every
pilot needs his wing" . This is the philosophy with which
GRIF develops its design.
KPL means King post less, that is, wing without tower,
since 1999, year when the CRS was born, the GRIF
has in the drawer this type of loom, in fact the first sail of the
CRS12 is a sail it deprives some holes for the superior cables and for
the tower, this wing has flown and has satisfied then already
us, but we have wanted to sound the market also proposing the version
with cables, the clients they did their choice and the without tower it
returned in the drawer waiting for the maturation of the times.
These
times have now arrived, other builders have introduced wings
without tower and us, you overcome the difficulties caused by the involvement
in the 2002 accident, we have decided to propose this project.
The Trainer KPL as the Trainer is a
wing for trike, it has been projected to be used as mean from school and
to effect drawings of free flight deltaplani.
Its development has lasted around 18 months and has been effected in hold
collaboration with the school of the Aeroclub of Viterbo,
from its manager, Bruno Dimitri and from other pilots
and instructors.

The
reached results are excellent and the shown performances are superior to
those of project.
To the least speed of around 40 Kmh. it stays stable and
it also allows easy landings without motor, under conditions of turbulence,
it is as many easy to maintain the control of the mean.
It has been tested with the best tike built in Italy and in the world and
also with some autocostruitis, the results are excellent, it after the opportune
regulations to the whole, practically flies very well with everybody and
its characteristics of flight they don't change.
The
performances got are excellent, the maximum-speed is about 105 Km/h,
and it can fly for a long distance about at 80 Km/h. ,
but the minimum-speed is very slowly, about 40 Km/h.
This a very good thing for a basic wing, which the new pilot can do all
his flight training with.

Its
general performances make it a very interesting wing for a tourist use,
especially if the pilot often flies with a passenger, or if he loves operating
in short strips.
In this case the TRAINER is the ideal wing because the
pilot can buy the same ultralight he used during his training, and this
shorts the school time.
The
TRAINER KPL, thanks to the wing' structs, can totally
close on the trike, leaving open only the triangle and climbed on him
wing's structs, this, combined to the small number of
sticks, it makes its dismantlement particularly comfortable.s of
the frame KPL is essentially tied to their put again, a trike that climbs
on a wing of this type, can practically be put again in a more compact
structure, occupying in height the necessary space to the refuge of an
Ultralight. As
our custom, in the project, the attention has also been turned to the
aesthetical aspect of the wing, many gods the used components are those
known and perfectly tested in over 20 years of production and that by
now they countersign the style GRIF, the new ones, necessary
for the new frame and the new system, its have been drawn with programs
CAD, a lot of time has been devoted to the compatibility
of the new details with the old ones, so that to allow possible retrofit.

Thanks
to this GRIF it makes the change of the traditional frame possible
turning them into KPL frame.
The
frame is made with tubes of AVIONAL 2017, the sail's
battens of ERGAL 7075 , all the plates and the mechanical
parts are made of AVIONAL 2024 , ALLUMINIUM 3571 and STAINLESS
STEEL , according to their use.
All
the pieces were designed for mechanical work, but even providing for aesthetical
shape, the pieces of the driving triangle are an example , which join
and have the same tube's wing contour.
They are made by the best workshops with numerical control machine-tools.
We
use POLYANT'S products to make the sail, the leading-edge
is made of TRYLAM or PENTEX , but for the extrados and
double surface we use DACRON, reinforced where there
are the biggest efforts. It means a longest life for
our wings and some comfortable driving characteristics.
This production's organization allows us to obtain high aesthetical and
mechanical quality, maintaining low cost both for wings and spare-parts
.
